#23 Week 5: Reflection on editing

March 3rd-March 6th:

Editing this week has really put my skills to the test. There were so many video files I had to sort through and trying to organize them to the best of my ability took some time. I realized how intricate each shot was and trying to align the clips together was as hard as editing my midterm. I kind of forgot how long the editing process takes and the effort involved in the editing process which fascinates me, and I definitely praise those editors of bigger film projects.  As I edit, I learn something new about Adobe Premiere Pro every day. Just yesterday I learned how to adjust the lighting in a video. This was very necessary because on the day of filming it rained halfway through the day. This was perfect as it added some dreary suspense to the atmosphere of the film. However, since my blinds were open the camera had to adapt to the natural lighting from inside and outside the set. So being able to use the Premiere Pros high-quality lighting effects helps my film be cohesive through each cut.

Additionally, in class today I asked Madelyn if she could take on the first thirty seconds of the opening. This includes the establishing shot and pan of important items set in Isabella's room. I asked for her help because I knew that if I wanted to get the editing done in a timely manner for my group then I was going to need more hands-on deck. I also know that she wanted to edit some parts of our film to learn more about the editing process. She immediately said yes and went straight to work.
