Back in class today my group and I wasted no time in resuming our discussions about the project. Before getting into class I knew I had to tell them the update I had about our location. As of last night, when I put more thought into our location, I began doubting using my grandparents' house for filming. Due to the guest bedroom being outdated and having to find time around their schedule, it was too overwhelming. Alternatively, I offered up my house because I know my mom will be at work, and I can get my dad to take care of our dogs, so we can film in a peaceful environment. When I mentioned this to my partners, they agreed, which was a relief.
The next thing we tackled in class was brainstorming some prop ideas. As Madelyn is the stagehand, we discussed what props could be added to my room, as I gave her a description of my set up for my room. Madelyn was sort of confused at some point when I mentioned different quarks of my room, but I made a mental note to make sure I took pictures of my room and send them to Madelyn and Indy when I got home.
Here you can see the pictures I took:
Lastly, my group and I embarked on our storyboard. For drawing the scenes with the camera angles and transitions, I ensured that Indy was in charge. This is because I am nowhere near an artist and am not creative through drawings. But I helped walk through how each scene can play out as I know every corner and gap in my bedroom. I also tried to be as descriptive as possible about different furniture items in my room that could be used for our film. I was unfortunately unable to finish discussing each scene with Indy before the bell rang. For tomorrow, Indy and I are scheduled to finish the storyboard as Madelyn finishes her mise en scene research for the teen bedroom.
