We began deciding who in the group would do what roles for our project. Since I filmed our midterm opening scene, I felt that I would be the best fit as the film director. At first, when I told Madelyn this, she said she wrote down our roles without communicating and talking with Indy and me. However, after mentioning that we must all be on the same page and organize our project accordingly, then as a group we divided the production roles up. I still was concerned about each of our specific roles in the project so going into next week I am going to have one more final conversation with my partners to finalize our production roles.
The next thing on the list was scouting out a location for filming. Since we decided to have our film set in a teenager's bedroom I immediately began searching. At first, I thought we could film at my house, but I have two loud dogs who would be distracting to our filming. So, when I asked Madelyn and Indy if we could use their house, they both sort of said the same thing that having siblings and pets would disturb our filming process. My next suggestion was asking my neighbors if we could borrow their Air BNB rental house since it's always clean and accessible. However, I had no way of contacting them, so I asked my grandparents if we could borrow their house. They agreed and we finally have our location to film our project.
It is perfect! My grandparents have a nice road leading to their driveway that is clear enough to possibly get some good shots of the house and a car driving up the driveway in one of the scenes. The bedroom is spacious with great lighting and with the right set design and costumes, then the room will be set for filming, which will also be discussed further after finalizing our production roles.
