#13 Week 3: Risk Assessments

After our first failed attempt at filming, I decided to create a risk assessment table to assess any dangerous activities while filming. We have not encountered the ones I listed on day one, but it's better to be cautious as to what could happen while on set, so everyone is safe.

Risk

Who is at risk?

What can be done to avoid the risk?

Is the risk high, medium, or low?

Trip over XLR cable

Actors and crew

  • - Tape cord to the floor.

  • - Move cord out of the way when filming a scene.

  • - Have Madelyn hold cord up while holding the boom poll.

Medium risk

Mirror falling and shattering

Actors and crew

  • - Be precautious around the mirror.

  • - Try to not stand right next to mirror in case cinematographer bumps into it.

  • - Actors to avoid bumping into mirror.

Low risk

Bumping into wall with wheeling chair

Actors

  • - Slowly sit and push back on chair.

  • - Sit not jump on chair.

  • - Turn chair with feet on the floor.

Low risk

Slipping on clothes

Actors

  • - Move clothes when not in frame to avoid slipping.

  • - Place clothes accordingly around the room.

  • - Step over close if in the way.

Medium risk

Back pain from moving heavy props

Crew

  • - Move props with two sets of hands.

  • - Lift heavy props with legs not back.

Medium Risk
