#11 Week 2: Choosing Name of Film

Ultimately, my group and I wanted the film name to coincide with the overall idea of the film. A recap on our idea was that a teenage girl is preparing for a date, hanging out with her sister, the ex comes to her house before her actual date and everything spirals after that.

When choosing our main song to help set the mood we searched for any upbeat songs that we personally would get ready too. While scrolling on Spotify and Apple Music the song Perfect Day’ by Hoku was suggested. As I listened to the song and tried to envision it in the film, I thought this was the best fit and so did Indy and Madelyn.

Being aware of the overall idea of the film and the song that will be used, Indy came up with these film titles:

1. The Date That Wasn't
2. A Twist in the Plans
3. Unexpected Arrival
4. Last-Minute Surprise
5. The One Who Showed Up
6. Not What I Expected
7. The Date Before the Date
8. Almost Perfect
9. Wrong One, Wrong Time?

In my opinion ‘The One Who Showed Up', 'Almost Perfect’, and ‘Wrong One, Wrong Time’ were my favorite titles out of the nine. In the end the decision was that we made the film title 'Almost Perfect’. This was because it was short and sweet with a more in depth meaning which will be discussed in the following of weeks. We also chose it because Indy had the great idea to put the film title on the bouquet of flowers to introduce the film before the opening cuts.
